Russian military personnel are doing everything to evacuate Indian citizens from the Ukrainian city of Sumy, Russian President Vladimir Putin told Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi in a telephone conversation.
Modi expressed his readiness to provide any possible assistance in order to resolve the conflict as soon as possible, the Kremlin said.
Putin outlined his assessment of the course of negotiations between the Russian delegation and Ukrainian representatives, the third round of which is scheduled to be held Monday, at the request of Modi, the press service noted.
Reuters, citing an Indian government source, reported earlier that Modi urged Putin to hold direct talks with his Ukrainian counterpart Volodymyr Zelenskyy, citing an Indian government source.
