New Zealand's government said Monday it will introduce legislation to impose sanctions against Russia, Reuters reported. 

If passed, it would be the first time New Zealand would levy sanctions on a country.

It has also banned more than 100 people from traveling to New Zealand in a list that was made public Monday. At the top of the list is Russian President Vladimir Putin.
