Chinese President Xi Jinping made the statement during the Global Leaders' Meeting on Gender Equality and Women's Empowerment in 2015. It is also the core spirit of celebrating International Women's Day in China.

This video highlights the exemplary deeds of some extraordinary women in China who inspire people to move forward and show girls that the future has no limits if they persevere and work hard for their dreams.

There is Zhang Guimei, who has strived to craft a promising future for "mountain girls." As the principal and founder of the first free public high school for girls in China, she helped nearly 2,000 girls walk out of the mountains, go to universities and rewrite their destiny since 2008.

There is also Tu Youyou, the first Chinese woman to win a Nobel Prize for her work in helping create an anti-malaria medicine, which has saved lives globally.

There are many role models like them in China who have reached their full potentials, lived their dreams and inspired people to create an environment where talent has no barriers of gender or age. President Xi Jinping has always been concerned about the progress of women's cause and the protection of women's rights and interests, and supports every woman's endeavor to pursue her dreams and excel in life.
