A curious yellow-throated marten was filmed taking an interest in an infrared camera installed at the Dabashan National Nature Reserve in southwest China's Chongqing Municipality. It observed the camera for at least 10 minutes before leaving.

Yellow-throated marten is under second class national protection in China. It mainly inhabits tree holes and rock caves in forests. The animal preys on insects and various small birds and usually does not attack humans unless startled.
