A new COVID-19 case reported in Beijing on Tuesday was identified as the Omicron variant, and preliminary investigation showed the case's complete genome sequencing bears high similarity with other Omicron cases reported on March 4 in other Chinese provinces, Beijing health authorities said on Wednesday.
