The Chinese mainland recorded 528 confirmed COVID-19 cases on Wednesday, with 402 linked to local transmissions and 126 from overseas, according to data from the National Health Commission on Thursday.

A total of 586 new asymptomatic cases were also recorded, and 3,238 asymptomatic patients remain under medical observation.

Confirmed cases on the Chinese mainland now total 112,385 with the death toll remaining unchanged at 4,636 since January last year.

The latest tally of confirmed cases in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and Taiwan region is as follows:

Hong Kong: 238,657 (24,486 recoveries, 2,869 deaths)

Macao: 82 (79 recoveries)

Taiwan: 20,999 (13,742 recoveries, 853 deaths)
