China approved self-test kits by five local firms on Saturday to boost early detection efforts of COVID-19 cases. The rapid antigen test kits will be available in pharmacies, online and offline. Health authorities said nucleic acid, or polymerase chain reaction (PCR), swab tests still have a higher accuracy rate, and antigen tests will be used as a supplementary measure.
