Falling prey to absurd sanctions

Since the Ukraine crisis in 2014, the West has imposed over 5,000 sanctions on Russia. Most recently, apart from media, trade, finance, energy, science and technology, the U.S.-led Western sanctions have been extended to culture, art, sports and medical care. Even cats and trees from Russia have been banned. What was once beyond politics and ideology is now falling into tools for sanctions.
