The closing ceremony of the Beijing Winter Paralympics features a routine performed by hearing-impaired dancers. Throughout all their rehearsals, the dancers were assisted by a team of sign language interpreters. But just ahead of the final performance at the closing ceremony, dance director Ta Nina considered a surprise. She wondered whether to ask the interpreters to move aside towards the end of the routine and leave the stage to the dancers.
