The Chinese mainland has reported 1,807 new local COVID-19 cases and over 1,300 asymptomatic infections. Northeastern Jilin Province remains the hardest hit with over 1,400 new cases reported. The spread of the Omicron variant has forced Jilin's provincial capital Changchun to go to a lockdown. Mass testing is underway in many cities.
