Former U.S. President Barack Obama tested positive for COVID-19 on Sunday.

"I've had a scratchy throat for a couple days, but am feeling fine otherwise," Obama tweeted, adding his wife Michelle Obama has tested negative.

The couple are both vaccinated and boosted.

"It's a reminder to get vaccinated if you haven't already, even as cases go down," he wrote.

Obama, 60, served as the 44th president of the United States from 2009 to 2017.

The U.S. has reported more than 79 million COVID-19 infections and about 967,000 deaths as of Sunday afternoon, according to Johns Hopkins University data.
