More than a month into spring, one area in China's far west still resembles a winter wonderland.

The location is known as Bayinamen, a scenic spot in Jinghe County in Bortala Mongol Autonomous Prefecture, Xinjiang.

Sitting at around 1,600 to 2,000 meters above sea level, the mountainous area is home to lush forests and vast grasslands.

Bayinamen usually begins to warm up in late April, and is a great place for tourists who like to keep cool during the warmer temperatures.
