Russia on Monday temporarily banned grain exports and most sugar exports to member states of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU), but a senior minister said it would keep on providing special export licenses to traders within its current quota.
Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin signed an order banning the export of white and raw sugar until August 31, and banning wheat, rye, barley and maize exports to EAEU until June 30.
Russian Deputy Prime Minister Viktoria Abramchenko said the export of grain within the quota under individual licenses would continue to be allowed.
