In Turkmenistan, Serdar Berdymukhamedov has won the presidential election with nearly 73 percent of the votes. Born in September 1981, Berdymukhamedov is the son of the current president. He has risen through a series of prominent government posts. Most recently he has served as deputy prime minister.
