The U.S. and Russia made first high-level contact since Russia launched the "special military operation" in Ukraine, according to the White House.
U.S. National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan and Russian Security Council Secretary Nikolai Patrushev held a phone conversation to discuss a diplomatic settlement.
