Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has offered to host a meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in Istanbul or Ankara during a phone conversation with Putin, according to a statement by the Turkish presidency.

Erdogan said a permanent ceasefire could lead to a long-term solution and expressed his desire for positive results from the talks between Russia and Ukraine.
