The Chinese mainland recorded 1,737confirmed COVID-19 cases on Saturday, with 1,656 linked to local transmissions and 81 from overseas, according to data from the National Health Commission on Sunday.

A total of 2,316 new asymptomatic cases were also recorded on Saturday, and 16,196 asymptomatic patients remain under medical observation.

Confirmed cases on the Chinese mainland now total 130,199, with the death toll at 4,638.

The latest tally of confirmed cases in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and Taiwan region is as follows:

Hong Kong: 275,783 (33,651 recoveries, 5,650 deaths)

Macao: 82 (79 recoveries)

Taiwan: 21,784 (13,742 recoveries, 853 deaths)
