The first batch of 21,200 specific anti-COVID Nirmatrelvir and Ritonavir tablets approved by China's National Medical Products Administration have arrived at Shanghai Pudong International Airport to help bolster the fight against COVID-19.

The two newly approved antiviral drugs will effectively lower the probability of COVID-19 confirmed cases from severe to moderate, thereby improving the treatment rate, a medical expert said at a press conference on March 19.
