China Media Group (CMG) learned from China Eastern Airlines that according to departure Information, no foreign passengers were aboard the crashed Boeing 737 airplane.
The company told CMG that it will conduct further confirmation.
The plane en route to Guangzhou with 123 passengers and nine crew members crashed on Monday.
The cause of the crash remains unclear, and rescue operations are ongoing.
