00:31

Chinese authorities say the COVID-19 situation in Jilin Province is fluid. More than 22,000 COVID-19 cases have been reported in the northeastern province since the start of this month, with new cases exceeding 1,000 for eight straight days. It comes as the mainland battles its biggest surge in two years. More than 41,000 local cases have been reported in 28 provinces this month. The government says it's strengthening coordination among the provinces to better control the surge.
