A pregnant woman infected with COVID-19 in east China's Jiangxi Province had successfully given birth to a baby boy amid the latest virus outbreak. The mother was confirmed to have the Omicron variant of COVID-19 and was transferred to the First Affiliated Hospital of Nanchang University for an emergency C-section. At 3:25 p.m., the C-section began, and 25 minutes later, the mother gave birth to a boy weighing nearly four kilograms. The baby tested negative for COVID-19. In order to avoid infection, the mother and her newborn child were placed in different isolation wards.
