Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov on Thursday met with International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) President Peter Maurer in Moscow to discuss humanitarian issues in Ukraine.

In a joint press conference after the meeting, Maurer said the ICRC appreciated Russia's readiness to better protect the civilians in Ukraine, and called for faster delivery of humanitarian assistance to all civilians there.

Lavrov said Russia and the ICRC have agreed to continue working together.
