The state media of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) has released images of the country's latest missile launch, calling it a "new type" of intercontinental ballistic missile. DPRK leader Kim Jong Un says Thursday's launch was designed to demonstrate the might of Pyongyang's nuclear force and deter any U.S. military moves. The U.S. has placed additional sanctions on DPRK entities and persons in response to the launch.
