Ukrainian and Russian soldiers reportedly clashed using small arms on the northwestern edge of Kyiv, near Irpin, on Saturday morning. And Russia is now shifting its focus from Kyiv to the eastern front. Moscow says the first phase of the conflict is over and that it is focused on what it calls the "complete liberation" of Ukraine's Donbass region. British intelligence says Ukrainian forces have retaken towns and defensive positions on the eastern outskirts of Kyiv.
