The Chinese mainland reported more than 1,200 local COVID-19 infections on Saturday. Shanghai reported 50 confirmed and more than 2,600 asymptomatic cases. As a result, the city is starting to impose a lockdown in two phases. Districts to the east of the Huangpu River, and some to its west, will be locked down and tested between Monday and Friday. The remaining areas will be tested between Friday and next Tuesday.
