Expert: It's a tragedy for U.S. to spend more on defense than on COVID

The Biden administration has proposed $813 billion for national defense spending for 2023. That would be a 4 percent hike from approved spending for the current fiscal year. Teng Jianqun, a research fellow at the China Institute of International Studies, talked to CGTN's Global Watch about the U.S.'s budget proposal. Teng said that it is a tragedy for the U.S. to spend more on military defense than on fighting the COVID-19 pandemic.
