China's economic hub Shanghai is taking strict and detailed measures to curb the community spread of COVID-19. As of today (March 29), 35,576 close contacts have been detected in the latest resurgence in Shanghai, of which 28,942 people tested negative while others are awaiting results. Shanghai launched a new round of nucleic acid testing on March 28.
The office said the measures are being taken to curb the virus spread, protect people's lives and health, and achieve the dynamic zero-COVID target as soon as possible. In areas affected, closed-off management is taking place in residential communities and residents are required to stay indoors, while non-contact delivery of necessities are allowed.
