Yangpu Port registered its first foreign-funded international ship - the Ma Yue of Xinlat Shipping, as it continues to see increased appeal in the international market under China's plan on the construction of the Hainan Free Trade Port, in the southern Hainan Province. The Ma Yue is an oil products tanker, with a cargo load of 5,036 tons owned by Xinlat Shipping.

Xinlat Shipping submitted the registration transfer of Ma Yue in Yangpu Port on March 2. The tanker completed its crew change on March 27 and finished import customs clearing processes. Two of its Thai crew members have been granted certificates of competency by maritime authorities, making them the first foreign crew members servicing on a ship registered in the port.

A total of 412 shipping industry-related market players have registered and settled in Yangpu between June 2020 and February this year, with 204 registered ships combining 8.97 million tons of cargo tonnage.
