At least three people were killed, and two others were wounded in a mudslide that hit a village in eastern Afghanistan's Wardak province, the state-run news agency Bakhtar reported Wednesday.

The accident happened when part of a hilltop collapsed in the Dehmirdad district of Wardak province late Tuesday, killing three persons and injuring two others, the news agency added.

Women and children were among the victims, according to the report.
