China's commerce ministry on Thursday urged the U.S. to immediately correct its wrong approach and stop politicizing economic and trade issues after Washington added China Telecom (Americas) Corp and China Mobile International USA to its list of communications equipment and service providers deemed threats to U.S. national security.

Speaking at a press conference, Shu Jueting, the ministry spokesperson, warned that China would take necessary measures to resolutely defend its rights.
