Russian and Ukrainian negotiators on Friday began peace talks online following the last round of face-to-face negotiations in Turkey.

Vladimir Mezinsky, head of the Russian delegation, posted two pictures showing the ongoing meeting while saying Russia's position on the Crimea and Donbas has not changed.

Ukraine's presidential office also confirmed the two sides resumed talks on Friday in an online format but without providing further details.

Russian and Ukrainian delegations held talks in Turkey on Tuesday, after which Ukrainian negotiator Mykhailo Podolyak said he felt "positive."

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said on Friday that Moscow was preparing its response to Ukrainian proposals at Tuesday's talks.
