Volunteers in Shanghai's Puxi offer home services to local residents
01:12

Volunteers in Shanghai's closed-off Puxi area are offering door-to-door services in residential communities, helping maintain as much normality as possible in the daily lives of millions of quarantined residents. Mass nucleic acid testing is sweeping through every apartment west of the Huangpu River. In a large residential compound with nearly 50,000 people now under stringent control, volunteers have become the pillars of support keeping residents going under isolation, taking care of details from takeout delivery and nucleic acid tests to garbage disposal. One three-person squad takes charge of collecting domestic waste from doorsteps, and disposing of it properly.
