The sea turtle bay in Guangdong Province's Huidong County is surrounded by mountains on three sides and faces the open sea. The seawater beaches provide an agreeable environment to lay turtle eggs.

The Nanling Mountains stand in China's southern region. They divide the Yangtze River valley from the basin of the Pearl River. After eons of change and upheaval, Nanling is home to many mid-subtropical life-forms as their habitat and refuge.
