Russian Investigative Committee Chairman Alexander Bastrykin has ordered an official analysis of what he called "Ukraine's provocations" in connection with the murders of civilians in Bucha, a town outside Kyiv, according to a statement from the committee published on its website on Monday.
It said Ukraine's defense ministry disseminated information about the murder of civilians in Bucha in an attempt to discredit the Russian military personnel.
According to the statement, Bastrykin has instructed investigators to take comprehensive measures to expose all the persons involved and to give a procedural assessment of their actions on the grounds of a crime under Russian Criminal Code.
