Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy is set to address the United Nations (UN) Security Council later today. Civilian killings have been reported in the city of Bucha, just outside the capital Kyiv. Zelenskyy is expected to call for tough new sanctions on Russia.
Russia's ambassador to the UN said no civilians were killed while Russian forces were in control of the region, adding if there were any killings, they must have taken place after Ukrainian forces entered the area.
U.S. President Joe Biden said he will call for a war crimes trial. Officials said the U.S. will request Russia's removal from the UN Human Rights Council. European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen said the EU is ready to send investigators to Ukraine. Kyiv and Moscow have agreed to resume online negotiations. Owen Holdaway reports.
