In response to Pakistani President Arif Alvi's request to finalize a date for new national polls within 90 days, the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Thursday said general elections are not possible before October this year, according to local media.

In a letter to the president, the chief election commissioner said that seven months are required to hold free, fair, and transparent polls in the country.
