Expert: Political corruption often leads to military interference
03:52

Lawmakers have clashed in Pakistan's National Assembly ahead of a no-confidence vote on Prime Minister Imran Khan. The parliament adjourned on Saturday for a few hours, delaying a motion that could oust Khan. He earlier said he accepts the Supreme Court's verdict, despite being disappointed in the decision. Khan also noted that he would not recognize an opposition government if it succeeded in ousting him. He insisted he is victim of a "regime change" conspiracy involving the U.S.

Sultan M. Hali, a Pakistan-based writer, analyst and host of the TV talkshow "Defense and Diplomacy" in Islamabad, said political corruption often leads to military interference.
