Japan and the Philippines held their first ministerial security talks on Saturday in Tokyo to enhance cooperation in defense security.
The "two-plus-two" talks involved the respective foreign and defense ministers.
In a joint statement, the two countries said they would further boost defense relations following their first "two-plus-two" security talks in Tokyo between Japanese Foreign Minister Yoshimasa Hayashi and Defense Minister Nobuo Kishi and their Philippine counterparts Teodoro Locsin and Delfin Lorenzana.
