01:15

At least 52 people have now been confirmed dead and dozens wounded from that attack in Donetsk. The regional governor said thousands were waiting to be evacuated from the station when it was attacked.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy condemned the strike, saying "everyone responsible will be brought to justice."

Russia denied any involvement. A Kremlin spokesperson says it had no scheduled missions in the area. The RIA news agency cited Russia's defense ministry saying the missiles used in the attack were only used by the Ukrainian military.

A UN spokesperson condemned the attack, calling it "a gross violation of international humanitarian law and international human rights law, for which the perpetrators must be held accountable." The strike has forced authorities to re-route evacuation channels for people trying to flee the escalation in violence in eastern Ukraine. An official in Luhansk said, "our evacuation routes are being adjusted, but we are ready, we will continue to evacuate people." He also said the region is experiencing significant shelling. So far more than 4.3 million people have fled to neighboring countries from Ukraine.
