President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen on Friday handed over a questionnaire for the status of a candidate for EU membership to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

"Ukraine takes another important step towards EU membership. We will accelerate this process as much as we can, while ensuring that all conditions are respected," von der Leyen said in a tweet.
