Shanghai's largest temporary hospital at the National Exhibition and Convention Center started receiving people infected with COVID-19 on Saturday. A total of 6,748 beds were put in initial use and around 50,000 beds will be provided for COVID-19 patients after construction in other pavilions is completed.

Shanghai currently has five city-level temporary hospitals with around 45,000 beds for COVID-19 patients.
