Global food prices saw a significant leap in March due to the conflict in Ukraine. The monthly world food price index rose 12.6 percent to reach almost 160 points in March, the index's highest-ever total. The UN Food and Agriculture Organization said this is due to Russia and Ukraine being major producers of wheat and coarse grains.
