At least 48 persons have been stranded in trollies for over 20 hours, and one was dead in India's eastern state of Jharkhand, confirmed a local government official over the phone on Monday.

The mishap occurred in the state's Deoghar district on Sunday afternoon after the chain of the ropeway came out suddenly. The ropeway was passing through hills when the mishap occurred.

More than 10 people have been rescued so far. During the rescue operations, a woman died and one child who had been sent to a local hospital was in a serious condition.
