Austrian Chancellor Karl Nehammer said the discussion was "very direct, open and tough" after meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Moscow on Monday.
The Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov earlier revealed that the talk is being held at Novo-Ogaryovo.
Austrian media outlet Kronen Zeitung reported that the meeting lasted 75 minutes, and there will be no official pictures of the meeting between the two leaders.
