CGTN's Qu Bo photographed four to five grey herons in Shahe Reservoir in Beijing's Changping District. Flying around the wetland and foraging, the birds appeared to be enjoying their life in the urban area.

Back in 2016, the water quality of the reservoir was listed as grade V – applicable to water bodies for agricultural water supply and for general landscape requirements, and not for fish or humans. After years of protection, it has become a hot spot for birds and aquatic creatures.
