NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg recently called China "a serious challenge" to the Washington-led alliance as China refused to condemn Russia's aggression. However, in contrast to what NATO has done – sending weapons and coercing other countries – China has always promoted peace talks since the outbreak of the Russia-Ukraine conflict.
