Some 10,000 people in Anyue County, southwest China's Sichuan Province, were affected by heavy rain on Monday evening. Authorities said 103 houses collapsed due to the downpour. Twenty people were taken to the hospital with minor injuries, and 16 of them have been discharged.
More than 300 firefighters, police and emergency teams are helping to clear muddy streets. Authorities estimate losses at over 10 million yuan ($1.5 million).
