The Kremlin said on Wednesday that it categorically disagreed with U.S. President Joe Biden's description of Russia's actions in Ukraine as "genocide."

"This is hardly acceptable from a president of the United States, a country that has committed well-known crimes in recent times," Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov said.

On Tuesday, Biden said that Russia's behavior in Ukraine amounted to "genocide" in his view, using that word for the first time.

Touching on the negotiations with Ukraine, Peskov said "there is nothing to report on the results of negotiations with Ukraine yet, hard work is underway," TASS reported.

Peskov also said Ukrainian politician Viktor Medvedchuk has never had a behind-the-scenes relationship with Russia.
