The death toll in the floods in South Africa's KwaZulu-Natal has climbed to 59, according to the local government.

South African President Cyril Ramaphosa will visit the flood-hit areas of KwaZulu-Natal on Wednesday to offer support to affected communities and assess the response of government and civil society to this critical situation.
