A total of 2,024 people were discharged from hospitals after recovering from COVID-19 on April 13, China's National Health Commission (NHC) reported on April 14. Among them, 1,997 cases were of local transmission, mainly from east China's Shanghai and northeastern Jilin Province, and 27 from abroad.

In addition, 37,636 close contacts and 18,188 asymptomatic carriers of the virus were released from medical observation. On April 13, the Chinese mainland reported 2,999 locally transmitted and 26,318 local asymptomatic cases of COVID-19. Of the new local cases, 2,573 were reported in Shanghai, 325 in Jilin, and 47 in southern Guangdong Province.
